FOUND: Rawligion, London

A stones-throw from the busy pavements of Tottenham Court Rd and Oxford St, you can find Rawligion, a small ‘grab-and-go’ style café boasting a delicious and nourishing selection of plant-based delicacies, energy enhancing raw chocolates, chia pots and a selection of juices and smoothies featuring an eclectic array of mind and body boosting ingredients that rival most others on the market. Even though everything available is vegan friendly, gluten free and raw,  at Rawligion there is no longer a choice between tasty or nourishing, you can have both.

Brought to you by an on-site raw chocolatier, full-time juicer and raw-food chefs, each item is crafted with care and thought. It is about bringing back the tradition of Ayurvedic and Chinese medicine, developed and improved over thousands of years, in a way that modern city dwellers can appreciate. Each ingredient is sourced consciously, with a focus on where the ingredients come from and how they are grown. This is so clearly evident when, after eating plenty, you’ll feel fresh and satisfied, not overstuffed.

Here you can try the delicious Raw Spicy Singapore Noodles, made from kelp noodles, red cabbage, carrots, dressed with tamari and apple cider vinegar (with its proven biological benefits), heavenly spiced. Or you can choose the classic Caesar salad with a twist, made with pumpkin seeds, cashews, almonds and a sprinkle of nutritional yeast. To finish off the meal, you can choose between the scrumptious Zillionaire Shortbread (sprouted buckwheat, lucuma, cane juice crystals, mucuna) and the Chi Lime Pie (sunflower seeds, lucuma, raw coconut nectar, mucuna).

To wash them down, there is a huge variety of options. All made with a base of alkaline water, triple filtered through ceramic plates and nano filters to say goodbye to the nasties that may be lingering in our taps (yes, this is sold in store as ‘water upgraded’). You can find energy boosting shots and botanicals for every occasion; among these are John Dee (Obsidian infused alkaline water and juice with charcoal and a ‘black magic extract’), RawWoman (Shatavari, aloe, green tea extract, pomegranate) and Liquid Gold (‘Tumeric+’, ginger, sea buckthorn, neroli hydrosol). Or, you can try one of their specialty mylks: Brain mylk infused with medicinal mushroom extract to promote brain function or Relax, infused with non-psychoactive CBD oil, to reduce stress and anxiety and promote sleep. Not mentioning their wall of smoothie selections and their specialty coffee, made with the Oji cold drip coffee tower, there really is something for everyone.
